Rick Sampley, CFP®
Rick joined Lakeview Capital Partners in October 2014 as a Managing Director and Registered Investment Advisor. He is a Certified Financial Planner™ professional and an active member of our investment committee.
Since 1974, Rick has been an Investment Advisor serving clients at EF Hutton (14 years), Dean Witter Reynolds (7 years), PaineWebber/UBS (12 years) and at Morgan Keegan/Raymond James and Associates from 2006 to 2014.
Our mission is to provide long-term wealth management services to families, retirees, corporate executives, and business owners in the role of “financial quarterback.” We seek to simplify the lives of our clients as we plan and invest for long-term cash flow and seek to grow assets, while assessing and managing risk. We want to serve families for the rest of their lives. This is not about which investments to make. Rather it is about a long-term, holistic wealth plan – a lifelong plan. That begins by asking you the right questions.
In the 1970s and 80s, at EF Hutton & Co., Rick was trained in and offered financial services in a variety of wealth management disciplines including stock and bond investment management, syndicate, insurance and annuities, and alternatives. Rick also served in the role of Money Management Coordinator for over 50 advisors at the former Tower Place office of EF Hutton in Atlanta. He assisted Hutton advisors by identifying experienced outside managers and putting these managers together in the most appropriate combination to meet the objectives of advisors’ clients.
During the 1990s and up to 2004, Rick provided services to corporate executive services via public companies. He was designated as a Rule 144 Specialist (dealing with insider shares) while at Dean Witter Reynolds. At Painewebber/UBS, Rick served corporate executives and their employers as a Corporate Stock Benefit Consultant. Rick provided stock benefit consulting and cashless exercise stock option services under agreements with various companies including The Coca-Cola Company (Europe and Asia), BellSouth Corporation (nationwide), and GlaxoWellcome/GlaxoSmithKline (US). He created and staffed executive service programs and managed transactions for individual executives of the above companies and others.
Rick is a 1971 graduate of Tennessee Technological University (Bachelor of Arts in English with emphasis on Business Administration). From 1971 to 1973, Rick served as an officer in the Army and was the Command Briefing Officer for the Commanding General of the U.S. Army Security Agency in Arlington, Virginia.
